03.09.08 | Lee Pardini & Garvin Maye.....
I was just in the studio with Lee Pardini (pianist) for a great project! Lee re-arranged Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" album from top to bottom. The rough mixes sound GREAT! I'm looking forward to hearing the final cuts. Definitely a great recording to watch out for!!!

11.22.07 | Thelonious Monk Semifinalist - Review
"Philip Dizack’s unusual arrangement of Van Heusen's “Polka Dots and Moonbeams” brought pizzazz to his segment of the competition, making him one of the best semifinalists, a player exhibiting extended range, emotional spirit, and superb cohesiveness with the piano trio." - Jim Santella, All About Jazz

10.10.07 | Thelonious Monk Semifinalist
The semifinalists of the 2007 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition have been announced!

06.16.06 | Album Review
"If you're interested in auspicious debuts, here's one: Dizack was 19 when he cut this one, mostly with bandmates from the Manhattan School of Music -- Greg Tardy is the ringer, the only name here I recognize. Dizack plays trumpet, credits Nicholas Payton and Terence Blanchard as influences -- wow, that's young! Chopswise I'd say he's in their league already..." - Tom Hull

10.15.05 | Performance Review
"Philip Dizack plays with a tremendous amount of energy and is very expressive in his soloing. He displays a wide range of emotions, range, and dynamics, and his ability to think in a very advanced way through the chord changes is something to behold...There is no doubt about the fact that this young man plays with passion and conviction. His playing showed excellent control at softer dynamic levels helping to create moments of eloquent understatement, and at the other end of the spectrum, he displayed youthful energy in abundance..." -Gary Mortenson, International Trumpet Guild
